Inspired by Shaun Tan’s The Lost Things, the challenge was to search for my own lost things and create an abstract representation of those things that I have received or acquired throughout my lifetime.

There were four main themes that these lost things can be categorised in:

  1. Music and water: The water has been an integral part of my life. It has helped me grow as a person. It taught me so many lessons that still hold importance to this day. The water has always been there to calm me down. The sounds of the waves crashing, the memories it comes with, I carry with me forever. Music makes everything in life better. It allows me to create different worlds. It allows me to be whoever I want to be, whenever I want to be. Everything about music and water are in everywhere that I go and in everything that I do. It is integrated in my everyday life. It is integrated in everything that I know and in everything that I love.

  2. Love: Love has been in my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve felt love in a lot of different ways, from a lot of different people. But one thing that seems to be recurring is the distance. One way or another, there is something that keeps me and my loved ones apart.  But, one thing is for sure, wherever we are in life, however long the distance, I will always cherish every minute I have with the people important to me. No matter what, we always find a way back to each other.

  3. Knowledge: I’ve been taught so many lessons in life. I’ve learned in school, I’ve learned at home, and I’ve learned in my everyday life. Many of the things I’ve learned in life come from experiences I never expected to learn from. Because of this, I see the world with so much appreciation. I interact with the world in a very personal way.

  4. Daily Essentials: I am who I am because of my daily routine. I experience the world the way I do because of the things that help me get through my daily life.
